    South America stretches from north of the equator all the way south almost to the continent of _________________ .     The highest waterfall in the world, ANGEL Falls, is on this continent. The highest navigable lake in the world, Lake TITICACA, is also on this continent.

Especially well-known are the following:  the aNACONDA and bOA CONSTRICTOR which are large snakes, the lLAMA and aLPACA which are now raised here in B.C., and the pIRANHA which is a flesh-eating fish. Of course, fLAMINGOS and pARROTS are also well-known birds native to S.A, and from the GALAPOGOS Islands, off the west coast of S.A., come the GALAPOGOS tortoises.

  with a capital city that is easy to remember:BRASILIA, although it is better known for its coastal city of RIO DE JANEIRO. The second largest country is ARGENTINA in the south; it’s capital is BUENOS AIRES .The third largest country is PERU on the west with its capital LIMA.
