Jan. 20: Start this science unit: Mixtures

Jan. 16: Just for today, while school is closed…
1. make sure you have memorized the poem on this page: Poetry
2. Watch this Youtube video: Mixtures Then use this worksheet to record results of your own demonstrations: Mixtures – a Demonstration
3. Edit and rewrite your two paragraphs about migration from yesterday. Use the guide HERE . Bring your drafts from yesterday and your rewritten paragraphs to class on the next school day.
4. Do the math practice sheet on this page and bring it to class:  Decimal Practice
5. Read a book for an hour. (Remember that new story cards are due on Monday.)

6. Reserve some library books about migration. You may do a keyword search (migration juvenile) or see the suggestions on THIS PAGE

2. Watch this Youtube video: Chemistry Mixtures. On a piece of paper, explain what you learned using words and coloured diagrams.
3. Write two paragraphs about migration using the topic sentences you wrote in class last week: “Long ago, people started travelling around the world.” and “People started living in Canada thousands of years ago.” You may watch the Powerpoint presentation again:  Migration and the History of Canada
4. Do the math practice sheet on this page and bring it to class:  BEDMAS
5. Read a book for an hour. (Remember that new story cards are due next Monday.)

1. memorize the poem on this page: Poetry
2. Practice identifying, comparing, sequencing, adding, and subtracting integers. You will find a PDF version of today’s open book practice test at the bottom of this page: Integer Practice Test  (You will have a closed book test later this week.)
5. Read a book for an hour.

2. Copy the migration outline on this page. Copy all of part A (Wanting to Leave) and part B (Choosing Another Place). Make sure you arrange your writing the way it is in the outline: start new lines for new ideas!

5. Read a book for an hour.
